Tupelo wants a volleyball rematch against DeSoto Central, but the defending Class 3 state champion Lady Wave will have to earn it.
THS travels to Madison Central next Thursday for a play-in game. The winner will play DeSoto on Saturday, Oct. 13 in the state quarterfinals.
The Lady Wave lost twice to DeSoto Central in the regular season: 3-1 and 3-2.
“Last week, we put ourselves in position to win (against DeSoto),” THS coach Laurie Bishop said of her team’s 3-2 road loss. “We’re confident we can compete with them.”
