Here’s the story from Saturday night’s buzzer-beating Booneville win and New Site’s sixth straight Prentiss title, plus a couple of videos.
JUMPERTOWN – Booneville won the Prentiss County Tournament the only way it should be won, on a buzzer-beater.
The Daily Journal’s second-ranked team handed the top-ranked Baldwyn Bearcats their first loss with a 55-54 win on Jordan Miller’s putback at the buzzer.
In front of a standing-only crowd of approximately 1,500, Martell Brown gave Baldwyn (19-1) a one-point lead with 9 seconds to play. But four Blue Devils (15-3) touched the ball on the game-winning trip.
